Why it exists.
Most lost-and-found systems are global. You post an item, and your post sits next to thousands of others, surfaced to nobody in particular. The matchmaking is wrong — physical proximity is the strongest signal, and it's the one most platforms ignore.
LnF is hyperlocal by design. When you publish a lost or found activity, the platform surfaces it to people physically nearby — transit commuters who use the same metro line, store owners along your walking path, security desks on your campus, street vendors on your block. Targeting the audience is part of posting.
The activity stream is local-first: each report shows distance and recency, and you can filter by radius. Match reports come back with image hints, location anchors, and a reputation signal. PWA so it lives on a home screen with offline tolerance and real-time alerts when something reports nearby.
